About us

Unitechnologies SA is specialized in the high technology domain of precision automation. With its brands mta® and sysmelec®, Unitechnologies develops and realizes high precision production machines for various industries. These include watchmaking, medical, microelectronics, automotive and optoelectronics.

With its mta® brand, Unitechnologies globally commercializes volumetric micro-dispensing and selective soldering processes based on standardized platforms. As a result, the product range includes simple manual systems, semi-automatic table robots as well as fully automatic production cells.

With its sysmelec® brand, Unitechnologies designs and manufactures custom machines. These machines are mainly intended for the automated assembly of microtechnical products that are demanding in terms of precision and integrated processes. In addition, standardized sysmelec® systems for the crimping and packaging of surgical sutures are also proposed.

Founding of mta automation ag. The main activities include the design, production and marketing of equipment for the watchmaking industry.

1976
Launch of the mta automation “customized machines” for the assembly of micro-technical parts.

1982
Founding of Sysmelec SA.

1988
Realization of the first Sysmelec robotic assembly machine guided by vision.

1990
Launch of the mta automation ECO standard robotic cell for automatic soldering. This cell is entirely manufactured in-house.

1992
Realization of the first Sysmelec assembly line for microsystems.

1992
Launch of the micro-dispensing sector for mta automation.

1994
mta automation introduces dispensing technology for two-component products. Its dynamic mixing chamber is patented.

1994
mta automation is one of the first companies to present a soldering robot, using Soft-Beam technology.

1994
Founding of mta automation deutschland gmbh.

1995
Launch of the mta automation table-top robot L/C for semi-automated soldering and dispensing operations.

1995
Industrialization of the first “1 micron” Sysmelec robot.

1996
mta automation is the first company to use a laser (YAG). This replaces the Soft-Beam for infrared ray soldering.

1999
mta automation enters the US market.

2000
Founding of the unitechnologies group and integration of mta automation ag and Sysmelec SA.

2000
The mta automation TR300 table-top robot replaces the L/C robot. The TR300 uses a Windows interface and a touch screen for programming and setting.

2002
mta automation and Sysmelec move to the group’s new premises

2002
Official inauguration of the building in Gals.

2003
Introduction of the mta automation RC500 robotic cell which replaces the ECO cell. The same software as the TR300 table-top robot is used.

2005
Launch of the new Sysmelec “FEEL” product line. This includes studies and engineering.

2006
mta automation celebrates its 40th anniversary.

2009
Founding of mta automation inc. in the US.

2012
Sysmelec celebrates its 30th anniversary.

2012
mta automation ag and Sysmelec SA merge. The new corporate name becomes Unitechnologies SA. The brands/trademarks mta® and Sysmelec® are registered.

2014
Launch of the sylas® platform range for the 3D laser surface processing. The processes include selective polishing and micro-structuring as well as laser micro-welding.

2016
mta® brand celebrates its 50th anniversary.
