The sysmelec® standard range of SCM automated suture crimping machines is dedicated to the assembly and crimping of multivariant surgical sutures, allowing for a seamless and user-friendly way to shift from one variant to the next.

Well established on the market and with its proven capabilities since its introduction, the SCM machine range consists of 3 main models:

  • SCM30

  • SCM80

  • A stable production quality is guaranteed during the whole production process.

  • Thanks to SCM machines high degree of flexibility, a large range of products can be handled with a very short changeover time between products.
  • The high degree of automation makes the SCM machines very flexible and appropriate for the production of large or small multivariant surgical suture series.
  • After crimping the needle, all sutures are controlled using a quality pull-test (SCM50 and SCM80).
The equipment is fully automated to carry out the following main functions depending on the SCM model 30/50/80  and the chosen options:

  • Thread loading from a coil – mono- and multifilament, resorbable and non-resorbable threads
  • Multifilament thread stiffening by adjustable thermal process
  • Precise thread cutting to the required length
  • Needle loading from bulk – needles with several dimensions and shapes
  • Thread insertion into the needle hole
  • Multiple needle crimping
  • Pull-tests for quality control using a force sensor
  • Destructive test station (20N to 80N) with force sensor

The SCM machines are highly flexible and the product variants can be changed within 10 minutes. Amongst other, the machines are designed to manufacture small to large suture batches depending on the model.
